Title IX @45: Recollection, Reformation and Resilience conference will be held on Thursday, October 5, 2017 from 9 AM to 5:00 PM in the Shively Club located in Ross-Ade Pavilion.
Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972 was signed into law on June 23, 1972, by President Richard M. Nixon. Title IX is a comprehensive federal law that prohibits discrimination on the basis of sex in any federally funded education program or activity.
The day’s events will include presentations and panel discussions on Title IX’s impact on Purdue, women’s sports and education over the past 45 years. Dr. Sally Mason, President Emerita of the University of Iowa and former Purdue University Provost, will be the Keynote speaker. Ms. Boo De Oliveira, Head Softball Coach, will be the luncheon speaker.
A reception honoring the recipients of Purdue’s Title IX Distinguished Service award will follow the Conference.
