Central Service Technical Training is a comprehensive, self-study course in central service and sterile processing, designed to prepare central service, operating room, infection control, and material management employees to succeed on the IAHCSMM examination and become Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST).

Please note: Courses are preparation for the exam; passing a course does not equate to Certification. Please visit IAHCSMM's Website for more information. To see the certification application, click on [PDF] CRCST application.

400 hours of hands on training - Purdue University is unable to assist students in obtaining IAHCSMM's certification requirement of 400 hours of hands on training. The student will be responsible for setting up and obtaining that training on their own. If you have further questions or concerns, please visit the IAHCSMM's website at www.iachsmm.org to locate a Chapter in your area. The Chapter may be able to assist you with this requirement.

2-Step Payment Plan

  • Step 1: Enroll in the Correspondence course
Select the Installment Plan (50%) enrollment option based on your location. We will ship your course materials as soon as your payment is processed. You are welcome to begin studying the materials upon receipt; however, we will not accept any lessons until you are officially enrolled in the course (Step 2). You have six months from the date you purchase your course materials to pay the second installment of $245 and officially enroll in the course. At that time, you will select a delivery option, online or correspondence.
  • Step 2: Final payment
You will have one year from the date of your official enrollment (second payment) to complete the course and take the final exam. If your second payment is not received within the six month time frame, the offer expires and the materials are yours to keep. After the six month expiration, you must pay the $315 re-enrollment fee. All checks must be in U. S. funds and drawn on a U. S. bank for orders by mail.
