NOTE: You must finish your registration and pay the fee at the same time. If you are not ready to pay the fee, wait to start the registration process. You will only have 10 minutes to complete registration.
Only one attempt is allowed for each advanced credit exam.
To be eligible for advanced credit testing, you must complete the following steps:
Read the eligibility requirements and information specific to your exam on the PTC website at
https://www.purdue.edu/testingcenter/tests/advanced-credit.php.
Print the Form 231 (or use the fillable pdf) provided on the PTC website. Fill out your information at the top and signature section in the middle, then have your academic advisor complete and sign the bottom portion.
Register online and pay the Purdue credit by exam fee. The fee is non-refundable.
You will forfeit your registration fee and may lose your opportunity to test this semester if:
You do not attend the test session for which you registered
You cannot be admitted because you did not complete the required steps listed above
You access a non-approved calculator or other prohibited item(s) as listed below
Test Day
To ensure that everyone can check in and begin their exam in a timely manner, the report time is 30 minutes before the test time.
When you enter the PTC, please have your test materials ready for inspection. You must bring the following items for admission:
Completed Form 231
Photo ID
Approved calculator. Allowable calculators for chemistry advanced credit testing are restricted to one or two line TI-30X and TI-36X models. No other brand or model of calculator will be allowed. Calculators will not be provided by the testing center.
All other items must be stored in a locker. Outerwear (including coats, jackets, vests, scarves, hooded sweatshirts, and other shirts/sweatshirts/sweaters with hoods, pockets, and/or pouches) may not be worn into the testing room. Phones must be powered off, and all watches and fitness trackers must be removed. The less you bring to the testing center, the more efficient the check-in process will be.
