Description:
The Project Management Essentials online course is designed for the project manager who would like to build a solid foundation of project management knowledge and skills. This particular offering is a new, instructor-led, 100 percent online, 8-week course. Upon successful completion of this course, you will earn 3.5 CEUs from Purdue University, equivalent to 35 contact hours. Students use this foundational course as a strong starting point on the path towards taking the PMP® exam through Project Management Institute (PMI). Before you can qualify to take the PMP® Exam, PMI requires that you have at least 35 hours of project management education, so this course will help you with meeting one of the prerequisites for taking the exam. Please see http://www.pmi.org/Certification/Project-Management-Professional-PMP.aspx for more detailed information on the PMP® exam. Project Management Essentials is typically coupled with the online PMP® Exam Prep course, which is the second course in this online series. Independent study following the two-course series is required to pass the PMP® exam.
These online courses are offered by Purdue Engineering Online. As a graduate of the Project Management Essentials online course, you should be able to apply the project management principles to managing your own projects.
