COURSE DESCRIPTION
Description:
Introduction to Animal Agriculture provides an overview of livestock industries (poultry, dairy, beef, swine, small ruminant, horse) emphasizing the production of animal food products. The course introduces learners to animal physiology, genetics, nutrition, behavior and management and demonstrates how these disciplines impact livestock production. Students engage in meaningful conversation about emerging animal agricultural trends in the U.S. and are given a foundation on which they can build a career to improve livestock industries in both the U.S. and abroad. Offered online in spring, summer, and fall semesters.
Registration in this course is subject to the Purdue University Online Non-Credit Policies.
