Student Complaint Resolution

Purdue University is committed to providing distant students with an exceptional educational experience that is transparent, efficient, stimulating and fair. If, as a prospective or current student, you feel that your experience with an online course or program from Purdue has not lived up to those standards, you may register a complaint.

Filing Complaints at Purdue University

If you are having problems with a course, we encourage you to contact the instructor first; instructor contact information should be available on the course website. If contacting the instructor is not appropriate or has proven ineffective, contact the appropriate office at Purdue. Contacts for some of the important offices on campus are listed below.

Purdue administrative offices are open Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Eastern Time and observe standard US holidays.

Filing Complaints Outside of Purdue University

If you feel your complaint has not been properly addressed within Purdue, you are free to enter your complaint with other organizations at the state and national levels.

The Indiana Commission for Higher Education authorizes Purdue University to offer undergraduate and graduate level certificates, baccalaureate, masters, doctorate, and first professional degrees. You may submit a complaint at the ICHE website here.

At the national level, Purdue is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission of the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools. Information regarding complaint process can be found on at the HLC website here.

As a distance education student, you can also submit a complaint regarding a Purdue course in the state where you are residing as you take the course.
