Lovell Leadership Lecture SeriesDr. C. W. “Bill” Lovell is a Professor Emeritus in Civil Engineering, and an active FranklinCovey Facilitator in Human Resources at Purdue. After service in the U.S. Navy "Seabees" in World War II, he came to Purdue in 1948, where he obtained his Masters of Science Civil Engineering degree in 1951 and his PhD degree in 1957.
Professor Lovell's career of teaching, research, consulting and practice has extended over a period of 45 years. Before retiring in 1993, Dr. Lovell taught the introductory soil mechanics courses (CE 383 and CE 483) and the senior design project (CE 498) at the undergraduate level. Special interest areas include CE 597B (Effective Communication) and CE 597X (Skills of Leadership). In 2010, Bill created the Lovell Leadership Lecture Series, and APSAC is grateful for the opportunity to promote it.
