This CPR training is an American Heart Association (AHA) Heartsaver skills course. This training will include CPR skills for adults, children, choking and the use of the AED defibrillator. This class takes place at 1250 Third St, Purdue Fire Station. Parking is available in the COREC lots, which are north of the fire station.
This CPR training is delivered in a 2-part, “blended” format, with the first portion of the training delivered online by the American Heart Association (AHA), and upon completion, a second in-person, hands-on training session conducted by the Purdue University Fire Department. TWO registrations are required for training and certification. The first registration is for the online portion of the training via the AHA registration link. This is the second registration for the in-person, hands-on training session with the Purdue University Fire Department. When registering for the online AHA portion of the training, be sure to register for the additional CPR/AED – Adult, Child, Infant modules.
Upon completion of the online training, students MUST download the completion certificate and email it to the Office of Teacher Education and Licensure (OTEL) at licensure@purdue.edu. Students will not be allowed to complete the skills session without having emailed the online completion certificate (certificate must include the Adult, Child, and Infant modules). The in-person training cannot be completed prior to the online training. Content/material from the online training session will be referenced and required to pass during the in-person training.
