Aseptic Food Processing and Packaging

Purdue University has been a recognized leader in aseptic processing since Dr. Phil Nelson's work with bulk aseptic storage in the late 1960s
The Aseptic Processing and Packaging course is designed to give individuals the basic knowledge involved in the development and operation of aseptic systems. The course is appropriate for food scientists, food and packaging engineers, microbiologists, chemists, and anyone wanting in-depth knowledge of aseptic food processing and packaging.
The topics presented are an overview of aseptic processing and packaging, microbial principles applied to aseptic processing, chemical considerations, principles of thermal processing and thermo-bacteriology, equipment features, packaging considerations and assessment the package's sealing integrity, and determination of a quality assurance program for a review of compliance issues relative to commissioning an aseptic system.
Registration in this course is subject to the Purdue University Online Non-Credit Policies.
