COURSE DESCRIPTION
Description:
Gaming is a reality that many youth thrive in and can positively impact their future. Clover Gaming Connection is an experiential learning game design curriculum that delivers 12 plus hours of content that inspires innovation, imagination and cultivates creativity. The Clover Gaming Connection Curriculum ties directly to the needs of positive youth development by meeting youth where their interests lie, in gaming. While youth explore games and design they are building valuable life skills and career interests. This exciting curriculum engages and empowers youth both in person and/or virtually to explore their creativity and learn key skills that they can rely on in the future.
Participants will see how Clover Gaming is designed to be delivered in a SPARK/SPIN club format. It also has been successfully delivered in a day-long workshop format, an afterschool setting, as part of a library program, and more recently as a virtual club offering. Participants will experience grab and go lessons to take back to their communities. These lessons highlight game mechanics, probability in games and creative writing.
Registration in this course is subject to the Purdue University Online Non-Credit Policies.
